Is rdwc better than dwc. Well, it’s not necessarily the reservoir size that matters.but if the reservoir can grow larger roots then yes. Rdwc vs dwc is more about maintenance than yield. Proper water temps are crucial in any type of dwc system.it's waay easier to accomplish with rdwc.

Dwc or rdwc is cool and does veg super big plants super fast. If you choose this rout use food grade h2o2. On the other hand, rdwc is far superior for growing multiple large plants outside.

I ran dwc for years but when scaling up it's kinda a pain so went to coco. Both dwc and rdwc have advantages and disadvantages. That way uniformness and the ability to scrog would make it yield even better.that's a bit more difficult with seeds as they are not uniform and takes training to get them uniform.

I now have a very good grasp on why someone would want to be utilizing a rdwc vs the dwc. Me personally i prefer dwc/rdwc. Live in a state where i can have 6 flowering plants.

I treat this like a business in a way so losing a crop just won't work for me. Rdwc suits clones better than seeds. I have one plant in a 4x4.

Rdwc will be (4) 5 gallon square buckets, 2 pvc, 550 gl hr pump, 1/4hs chiller. It's effectively putting more oxygen into the water which is exactly what an airstone does in a singlular dwc scenario (unless you were using the kratky method). I recommend coco for all growers that cannot maintain ambient room temperatures under 80f and water temps below 70f.

Its a great way to spend your time and fun getting it right and tweaking but it is more time intensive than soil or coco. It kills beneficial bacteria (hydroguard ect) can burn roots. While functional, it's also quite the luxury item too i see.

That's what scares me about rdwc. Larger roots = larger fruits. Has natural antifungal properties, root rot is not as much of a concern as with dwc;

Although it doesn't negate the risk of contamination. My experience growing in dirt vs dwc is that hydro has the potential for much more vigorous growth. I’m not a commercial grower.

I guess the only thing that i will have to worry about is, that along with the benefits of. Too many failure points that can make you lose a crop and kinda expensive for the initial set up. Dwc can take up space as it uses multiple trays instead of one grow tray for plants.

A lot of folks think this might be even better than organic grown food in all respects because it offers a high level of sustainability, and quite frankly, when done right plant yields and health are awesome. For me it’s just easier and they grow big plants. So the space occupied by 5 to 6 grow buckets would be greater than that used up by one grow tray.

You have to be meticulous when using h2o2. It is entirely possible to incorporate aquaponics growing methods into rdwc hydroponic systems with success. Depending on your intentions and purposes, either system could be better.
